IMPORTANT UPDATE
Premier Doug Ford announced a second State of Emergency for Ontario, which includes a stay-at-home order, effective Thursday, January 14. This State of Emergency is necessary due to a sharp rise of cases of COVID-19 in the province, increased deaths, and the threat to our healthcare system and long-term care homes.
This means you should remain at home as much as possible.
Exceptions to leave home for essential purposes include:
- Accessing health care services
- Exercising
- Going to the grocery store or pharmacy
- Essential work
If you need help getting groceries or medications delivered, please contact us at 416-493-3333 to learn more about what options are available.
STAY SAFE AND WELL
The rate of COVID-19 has been increasing across the province and our hospital system is being threatened. We know that many communities in Scarborough have been hard-hit, and that includes our hospitals.
Now, more than ever, we must be vigilant.
Public Health officials remind us that the best way to stay safe is to:
- Stay home as often as possible
- Keep our distance/stay apart from others who are not in our household
- Wash our hands
- Wear a mask when we are out of home
ALONE BUT CONNECTED
We know that isolation is extremely hard, particularly for seniors. If this is true for you or someone you care about, we can help with remote friendly check-ins and assessments, and a wide range of support services.
Seniors are welcome to join our online and telephone programs for fun and interesting activities. You can find out what events are coming up on our events page.
If you are a senior, or know of a senior, who is not comfortable using computer devices or Zoom, let us help. Through our Seniors Active Living Centre, SPLC has been offering many different programs in various languages to help people get comfortable with technology. You can find information about these sessions on our Programs and Services page. If you need help connecting to these programs or finding the right one for you, call us at 416-493-3333.
