Assistance with Personal Care

What is SPLC's Personal Care Service?

Daily living tasks can become more difficult as we age, and having a little extra help with things like dressing and housekeeping can make all the difference. SPLC’s Personal Care service can help older adults live comfortably at home, with a whole range of supports. Services include:

Personal Care ($21.50/hour)* Homemaking ($20.00/hour)*
 

Assistance with -

  • Bathing

  • Check food expirations

  • Companion/walking

  • Dressing/grooming

  • Escort to appointments

  • Light housekeeping

  • Meal preparation

  • Medication reminders

  • Toileting/continence care

Provide light housekeeping -

  • Dusting

  • Grocery shopping

  • Laundry

  • Make beds/change linens

  • Meal preparations

  • Take out garbage

  • Vacuuming

Am I eligible?

In order to be eligible for personal care you must be 55 years of age or older, and live within the following catchment area: West of McCowan to East of Don Mills, and North of Ellesmere to South of Steeles.
