Volunteers, welcome back!
SPLC is happy to welcome in-person volunteers back. While we appreciate all the support volunteers have provided virtually, we have missed seeing so many of you in person. While some of you come back to in-person volunteering, we will continue our virtual programs, too.
At SPLC we have volunteers from all walks of life. Whether you are retired and looking to give back to the community or you are a student looking to develop and sharpen your skillset, there's an opportunity for everyone.

Annual Volunteer Recognition
We are thankful for all SPLC volunteers and the important work they do.
Each year we recognize the amazing contribution of our volunteers who spend thousands of hours supporting our seniors and older adults. This year, our celebration will be held on Zoom on Aug. 20 with games, sharing, awards and a lucky draw.
Throughout the last year, our volunteers continued to support our programs through the pandemic, helping to keep our community connected. Here is a look at just a few of the ways volunteers have supported us this year:
- Volunteers have provided meaningful companionship to seniors through regular Friendly Visit calls which were particularly important through lockdowns.
- Volunteers supported our security check team, calling seniors almost every day in the evening to check on their well-being.
- Volunteers assisted or led programs virtually on the phone or Zoom support language, recreational and other programs.
- Volunteers have supported seniors with their technology needs, both phone and online platforms, and providing support in Cantonese, English, Korean, Mandarin and Tamil
- Behind the scenes volunteers supported our back-office virtually with administration work.
We are deeply grateful to those of you who have been able to continue to support SPLC, and we miss those who cannot. Your generosity of time and skills make a tremendous difference.
