Annual Neighbourhood Walk for Seniors

Posted on May 21, 2012 (Updated: Mar 28, 2017)

On June 5th 2012 between 9:30 am and 1pm, St. Paul's L'Amoreaux Centre will be holding it's annual Neighbourhood Walk for Seniors! This very special event is our biggest yearly fundraiser, helping us raise essential funds to support seniors.  This year, as we commit to the goal of "Transforming the Lives of Vulnerable Seniors", we are hoping to raise $20,000 towards transportation for seniors with mobility needs, purchasing important products to help people with disabilities (like signs in braille) and providing much needed programs and services for those in need.

How can you help?

1. Walk
- We need people to participate in our sponsored walk! We have two routes to choose from, a shorter one (the south 1/2 of Bridletowne Circle) and a longer route (the whole of Bridletowne Circle). If you register to walk you can ask your friends and family to sponsor you; the money you raise will transform lives. If you want to walk, please find the registration form below, or pick one up from our Customer Service Desk at 3333 Finch Avenue East. You can also register via our website www.splc.ca/walkforseniors.

2. Donate - If you can't walk, you can still make a monetary donation. You can donate via the website www.splc.ca/walkforseniors, by visiting the Customer Service Desk at 3333 Finch Avenue East, or through the donation page on our website: http://www.splc.ca/become-a-donor.php

The reality is, government grants alone do not provide enough to meet the needs of all seniors, but we know a few hours of time and each dollar donated, truly has the ability to "Transform a Life".  Won't you join us?
