It seems Russia’s soccer team was not the only one deserving of a celebration this passed Thursday as participants laced up for SPLC’s annual Walk for Seniors. Walkers were blessed with great weather as they made their way around our community before watching Russia and Saudi Arabia faceoff in the kick off match of the 2018 World Cup while enjoying a complimentary lunch.
With the goal of championing SPLC’s mission and supporting healthy aging through programs and services that meet the needs of diverse older adults, this year’s walk was successful in raising over $ 9000 in donations!
While everyone’s ongoing participation was met with appreciation and gratitude, special mention must be awarded to our top fundraiser Adrian Yip, who personally raised over $ 3000.
