Temporary Building Closure

Stay home whenever possible

Posted on Mar 16, 2020 (Updated: Jul 6, 2020)

It is strongly recommended by Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health that persons over 70 years of age self-isolate. Many of our tenants and residents are at high risk to contract COVID-19 and become severely ill.

  1. Effective March 17th we closed the Centre and Terrace buildings to visitors and restricted access to one entrance per building to only persons providing essential services. The Centre and Terrace buildings are closed to all social visiting. Exceptions for essential services:
    • Nursing or personal care providers
    • Medication delivery
    • Groceries or Meals on Wheels delivery
  2. All visitors providing essential services are expected to self-screen at the entrance using the forms provided before contacting the tenant/resident they are visiting. UPDATE: As of May 1, only one visit per week is permitted between 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. All visitors are required to wear a mask.
  3. Prominent signs and information are posted with clear instructions in multiple languages.
  4. DO NOT enter if you are experiencing symptoms or have had contact with a person who is ill with COVID-19.
  5. Tenants may enter the Centre through the Main Entrance (“C”) ONLY.
  6. Residents may enter the Terrace through 2800 Warden entrance or parking garage.
  7. All other entrances are locked to entry.  However, you will be able to exit through any door but DO NOT let anyone in.
  8. Vehicles, including Wheel Trans and taxis, may only pick up passengers from Centre at the Main Entrance at Finch (traffic circle).  Entrance “D” (basement) is closed.  Passengers from Terrace may be picked up at 2800 Warden entrance ONLY.

This information has been provided in writing to all tenants and residents, and verbally as needed.
