St. Paul's L'Amoreaux Centre is very pleased to share the news that the construction in our courtyard has been completed. Over the past five years there had been concerns of water leakage in the Centre building and poor insulation, which caused higher utility costs.
During the summer and autumn of 2018 we installed new cladding and windows to a portion of our building. Made possible with a generous grant from the Province of Ontario through the City of Toronto and investment from our own capital reserve fund, the project addressed poor insulation, persistent water leakage into some units, and window deficiencies. The upgrades make it easier and less costly to keep our building warm, and our tenants comfortable - all while reducing our energy consumption. St. Paul's was successful in receiving the third largest amount issued by the City, out of 66 other housing providers.
The grant enabled us to complete the first of three phases: the exterior walls of our courtyard are beautifully cladded in off-white finish with accent panels in two of our brand colours. Tenants, staff, and visitors are delighted by the transformation of the building, and are excited to see the next two phases completed.
