As part of the RentSafeTO: Apartment Building Standard Program, City of Toronto scored St Paul’s L’Amoreaux Centre (the Centre) 86% which places us in the highest rated category.
RentSafeTO is a bylaw enforcement program to ensure that tenants live in safe and well-maintained buildings. The program applies to apartment buildings with three or more storeys and 10 or more units.
In December 2019, City Staff inspected the following areas in the Centre. If a building attribute is not present, the City excludes it from the total score.
• common areas and building grounds
• elevators
• garbage and recycling management (such as chutes, storage and screening)
• lighting
• mechanical systems (such as heating and ventilation)
• parking facilities and garages
• security systems (such as self-closing external doors, intercom systems)
• structure (such as building façade)
• overall cleanliness of the building and common areas.
The Centre does not have lockers nor balcony guards so these are excluded. Accordingly, City staff derived a maximum possible score of 90%. Our overall evaluation translates to 86% and this outstanding result means that the Centre will be re-evaluated within three years.
