SPLC Receives Grant for Renovations

Posted on Mar 20, 2008 (Updated: Mar 28, 2017)

St. Paul’s was awarded a New Horizons grant for capital assistance. The grant is funded by Human Resources and Social Development Canada which also funded grants for Mandarin and Tamil Speaking Seniors Outreach and the S.A.L.T project.

The grant will be used to replace flooring and tables in the recreation area. The improvements will make the physical environment safer, more comfortable, more accessible to seniors and community members.

The grant is great news as the recreation space is a high traffic area and a main focus of activity at the Centre, clients, staff, partners and volunteers pass through this area. Renovating the recreation area will allow St. Paul’s to continue offering high quality, senior-friendly talks; feature an array of external providers and professionals to provide information and education to clients and caregivers and community members. Replacing the flooring, tables and chairs will modernize St. Paul’s.

Renovations will begin in April and continue until June. We expect minimal inconvenience as major work will be done within a few days. We are looking forward to the end of June when we will have a beautiful new floor and upgraded equipment for your enjoyment.
