Everyone at SPLC would like to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving. We know that for many of you, celebrations will be significantly different this year.
While we understand the importance of seniors staying connected with friends and family, SPLC is calling on everyone in our community – residents, tenants, families, friends, SPLC staff and all support workers – to take actions to ensure that this long weekend is a safe and healthy one.
You can help to protect those particularly at-risk to COVID-19, including seniors, by keeping your social interactions very limited, wash your hands frequently, wear a mask, and maintain physical distancing.
Toronto Public Health recommends celebrating the holidays with only the people in your household. Perhaps, consider a virtual celebration instead!
We know this is hard. We wish the pandemic was over so that we could celebrate together. But taking extra precautions will go a long way in keeping our loved ones safe.
This weekend, more than ever, our actions matter.
