We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our former Executive Director and Board Director, Larry Burke.
Larry joined the Board in 1995 and served as Treasurer, then became Executive Director from 2005 to 2012. He was an outstanding leader and passionate about providing quality community services and affordable housing for seniors in Scarborough. Among his many achievements, Larry's guided St. Paul's L'Amoreaux Centre to it's first standing with Accreditation Canada in 2007, which is maintained to this day. He was instrumental in the construction of the St. Paul's Terrace Seniors' Residence that opened in the year 2000 and is home to over 100 older adults. Larry will be missed by the many employees, volunteers, Board Directors and community members who knew him, and all those who benefited from his vision and service.
Visitations will be held Monday December 2nd at 2:00 - 4:00pm and 7:00 - 9:00pm at Highland Funeral Home.
