This Mother’s Day, all of us at SPLC would like to take a moment to recognize and honour the mothers in our community.
As mothers, many of you have been the backbone for your family, passing on your guidance and advice, and sharing your compassion and support over the years. You instilled values around loyalty and caring for one another, and inspiring harmony in your homes and communities.
These days, as grandmothers, many of you have a chance to see these values passed on to younger generations. You offer your patience, caring, and a legacy of wisdom to build memories upon. We are thankful for everything you share with us and the communities you helped build for everyone.
We understand that this Mother’s Day will, again, happen during a pandemic lockdown and you may not be able to celebrate as you normally would with family and loved ones around you. We hope that you can connect with your loved ones virtually.
SPLC has special celebrations for Mother’s Day
Virtually, look for two special programs:
- The Chinese Karaoke TeleConferencing Program will celebrate Mother's Day on May 7 from 4-5 p.m.
- A Mother’s Day Tribute with a presentation and videos will be held on May 7 at 2p.m. Family and friends are welcome to join in for the fun.
Our own Terrace Restaurant will be celebrating on May 6, with a special menu of roasted lamb and duck. Ask our restaurant staff how to order the Mother’s Day Special for you and your family.
