We are thrilled to announce that SPLC has been awarded the highest possible status of "Accredited with Exemplary Standing" by Accreditation Canada. This status is in effect until 2022. In order to ensure the quality of services, and the safety of those we serve, Senior Persons Living Connected (SPLC) voluntarily participates in Accreditation Canada's review program.
The accreditation program is an internationally recognized system of evaluating organizations that provide healthcare and social support services to make them as safe and effective as possible. The assessment involved an on site visit from two Accreditation Canada surveyors who spoke with staff, volunteers, clients, and care givers to gauge the quality of care services being provided. Organizations are reviewed based on a series of performance standards to identify areas in which the organization has done well, and opportunities for improvement. Performance standards are regularly added, and amended to ensure they provide the most effective, updated recommendations for improvement. This year SPLC was evaluated against two new performance standards: "Medication Management" and "Home and Care Service". We are pleased to say that SPLC received scores of 100% Medication Management, and 97% on Home and Care Service.
The accreditation process required the combined effort of our entire organization, from staff, to volunteers, to board members. We could not be more proud of our community for their hard work, and dedication to improving the lives of the older adults we serve.
