To better serve our community, clients, volunteers and staff, St. Paul’s is applying for accreditation from the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation. Accreditation is a very important recognition that shows we comply with national standards of health care delivery.
Staff is hard at work preparing and updating plans, policies and procedures, and departmental self assessments. At the same time, we are also preparing for upcoming interviews with the CCHSA surveyors who will be on site later this fall. The surveyors will be interviewing staff, clients, partners and volunteers and will ask about their experiences with and knowledge of St. Paul’s.
It has been encouraging to realize that all of our practices and processes are in line with CCHSA requirements already. Now it is all a matter of organizing documentation and gathering different types of evidence that prove our commitment to high quality processes and practices.
The hallmarks of St. Paul’s have always been commitment to quality care, continuous quality improvement and the mechanisms to identify areas in need of improvement. We will continue to ensure the health and safety of clients, staff and volunteers are top priority.
Accreditation will be a great achievement for everyone at St. Paul’s. We look forward to celebrating our success with all of you.
